2008 Tide Book Errors

Members may have heard or read news reports regarding 2008 Tide Books that have been printed with errors. Click Here for the  USCG Safety Alert which addresses the issue. Two points for our members:

1) Please don't distribute any 2008 Tide Books to the public. Even with a "correction insert" there are potential liability issues for the Auxiliary. Without knowing of or understanding the Tide Book problems...damage or injury could occur. All Alaskan tide book areas appear to be affected.
2) Suggest our members visit the NOAA tides web site for accurate tide table information. That site is noted on the attachment.

D17 Membership Hits All Time High Mark. Members enrolled in the D17 Auxiliary have reached the 440 Mark! CLICK HERE to read the Job well done letter from Admiral Brooks! We are now larger than District 14!

Auxiliary eDirectory

The Auxiliary Electronic Directory is one of the better "tools" that has been offered to the members and is not just an email list, it is very handy in getting information that you need.  In it you have the ability to look up your own records for your ratings and competencies, it is much faster and easier to use than AUXINFO. You can also do searches and get lists of other members by what they do (crew, coxswain, etc) or what they are (FC, DSOs, FSOs) or even their office (VE, PE, MT, etc). You can get lists of all your FSOs, Division staff and DSOs that are above (or below) you in the chain of command.

The eDirectory is also the main avenue to verify that you are actually an auxiliary member. This is the directory used by anyone to verify your membership. The password used is how you will gain access to any member supported services (like the Shop Auxiliary site or any of the Online District Stores).

Any new auxiliary services or programs in the future that will require you to "log on" for security will use the eDirectory password to gain access.

So it will be to your benefit and necessary for some access to services to sign up at the eDirectory. Below is the link to go to for the sign-up process.
