One of the main goals of the Coast Guard Auxiliary is preventative Search and Rescue. This is accomplished by offering boating safety classes and Vessel Safety Checks to the public.

Every year in Alaska countless people get into trouble on Alaskan waters. Any step they can take to improve their decision making of making the right choice is a step in the right direction.
