COXN ACADEMY FAQ's to
your OTO:
Q. How do I get there and who pays for my travel.
A. Please call if you
don’t know the way to Homer. You will be under orders, hence, I will
pay. Those of you who live within 50 miles will be on permissive
orders. The Friday before class starts is our travel day. Class starts promptly at 0700 on
the First day.
Q.
Do we get per diem?
A. Yes.
Q. Do we have to make lodging arrangements?
A.
I make lodging arrangements. Students will have roommates to offset the
costs. I will choose a student from each room to request reimbursement
for lodging. The hotel will not split room rates. We will be staying at
Lands End Resort. Our conference room is located on the premises for
lectures, so the only time we leave is to train on the boats and eat (if
you don't want to eat at the hotel).
Q.
Where do we eat?
A.
There is a restaurant at the Lodge. There are also restaurants in town,
but other than most dinners, our meal times are rather limited. Also,
if you plan on having breakfast, get to the restaurant as soon as it
opens… service is very slow due to limited employees at this time of
year.
Q. What is the curriculum?
A. We
will discuss the itinerary on The first day of class. ALL students are
required to take TCT on the first day as well.
Q. May I share a room with my spouse rather than room with
another classmate?
A.
Yes, but you will have to pay
lodging for the duration.
