The A Team - United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, America's volunteer Lifesavers

The Coast Guard Auxiliary in Alaska is a very active and visible part of Team Coast Guard. For the year 2005 just look what the Auxiliary in Alaska accomplished.

 In 2005 the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Alaska

·        Was credited with saving 2 lives

·        Assisted 132 persons in distress

·        Assisted 62 vessels in distress

·        Helped save $2,225,000 in property

·        Performed 365 Safety & Regatta patrols

·        Participated in 299 Marine Safety/Environmental Protection Missions

·        Participated in 50 other operational support missions

·        Performed 24 multiple lesson Boating Education classes to the public

·        Performed 38 single lesson classes to the public (Includes 30 classes to youth)

·        Performed 784 Vessel Safety Checks (82.5% or 647 passed)

·        Performed 113 Marine Dealer Visits

·        Performed 64  Commercial Fishing Vessel exams

·        Attended 189 public affairs functions with an estimated attendance of 192,373

·        Performed 237 Member Training Sessions
